blankets to the poor families during the cold

E-mail Print PDF

Last winter season (November-December) we have distributed blankets to the poor families in the place where we are doing ministry. We are doing ministry in a slum area. In winter season many people here become sick and some die for not having enough warm cloths/blankets. We showed the love of God by giving blankets to the poor people and it opened a door for us to start the ministry there.

A Pleasant Surprise

It was a pleasant surprise for us when we heard a phone call from Gautam, a brother from Bihar state who became a Christian from Hindu background through our ministry.

We spent several years in Bihar state doing God's work. While we were there we conducted Bible study, prayer and counselling for youths in our home. There were eight youths from Hindu homes were regularly attending this programme in our home.

All those young men were university graduates and they all received Jesus in their hearts through our ministry. After we left Bihar five years ago, they all got different jobs and some got married.

One among them was Gautam. He said that he is married to a missionary girl, heading a ministry in Bihar and a few missionaries are working under his leadership. And he also said that another young man who used to be part of the Bible study in our home whose name is Harsh is studying in a Bible college in Calcutta. We believe that the other six brothers are also doing well in the Lord somewhere in our country.

After we left Bihar we did not have any information about any of those brothers.

A month ago Gautam met a friend of ours and asked about us and got our phone number from him. And he talked with us over phone to say this good news to us. Praise God!

It reminded us what apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain."

God is faithful and our labour in the Lord is not in vain.

Story of a Family

Three weeks ago a family came to our home. They have an 11 year old son.

They were at the verge of divorce. The husband is from Hindu background and the wife is from Christian (Catholic) background. There were tensions going on in the family for awhile. They shared some of their problems with us.

We prayed with them and started talking to with of them. We spent about three hours with them talking, counselling and encouraging them with the help of Holy Spirit. Finally we blessed and sent them to their home. Now from last three weeks the whole family husband, wife and their son are regularly coming to the church and participating every programme in the church.

Thank you for your prayers for our ministry.

Please pray for them so that they will grow in the Lord and will be a good example before others.

Once again thank you for your love and prayer by which we are able to stand firm and do God's work in this part of the world.

Blessings!

Pastor V.C. George, Annie and Kevin
